Yes, you can either pay for your bus pass in full or in three termly instalments. Please see the breakdown below:

Instalment 1 – £150 – Due by 7th September 2026
Instalment 2 – £100 – Due by 16th December 2026
Instalment 3 – £100 – Due by 17th March 2027

 

Once you have completed the online application form, you will be directed to make payment via the Online Store. 

Please ensure that you have completed the Bus Pass Application Form before making payment. Please keep a copy of your receipt. 

For learners enrolled in Full Time or Part Time FE study programmes, or Supported Internships, we offer Bursary Funding to help reduce or cover the cost of a bus pass, subject to availability.

As Bursary Funding is limited, it will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis to learners who submit an eligible application with mandatory evidence.

The College Bus Pass Application Form will ask questions to determine your eligibility to apply for a Bursary.

We will issue your bus pass when you start studying, subject to a completed application form and payment (in full or instalment) or bursary completion.

Yes, students that have applied for a pass will be able to travel on the buses while the bus pass applications are being processed.

In severe weather conditions we will try our best to maintain services. However, in some conditions, side roads and back roads become too difficult to negotiate, and we’ll operate a service with a reduced number of stops. If you’re in doubt, you can find out by checking the weather page.

Buxton station is only five minutes walk from the Devonshire Campus.

Buxton has direct trains from Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly, via Stockport. The journey takes about an hour.

You can also travel to Sheffield, which involves at least one change. For timetables contact National Rail Enquiries, 08457 48 49 50

Traveline also provides local information on trains and other forms of public transport.

www.railcard.co.uk offers a ‘young persons’ railcard that could save you a 1/3 off your fare throughout the country. You can apply for a ‘young persons’ card if you are 16-25, or 26 and over but in full time education.

There is no train station in or near to Leek.

Cycling
The Devonshire Campus has facilities for cyclists to store their bikes free of charge in the sheltered bays which are located behind the old gatehouse.
There are showers within the catering changing rooms that staff and students can use to freshen up.

Cycle security
We have a very good security record for cycling, however its always good to lock your bike securely! Heavy duty bike locks can be obtained from the security office at a heavily subsidised rate.

Motorcycling
Motorcyclists are welcome at the Devonshire Campus. Motorcycles do not require a parking permit, and can be parked free of charge on site. There is a sheltered motorcycle parking area within the main car park.

Student car parking

Please be aware there is no student parking on site.

We recommend you park in the Pavilion Gardens car park, which is around five minutes walk away on Burlington Road, near to the junction with St Johns Road. There is usually ample space during term time. You can purchase a special season ticket at a heavily discounted student rate of £110 per year from High Peak Borough Council, otherwise reasonable pay & display rates apply. Access to the Campus is easiest if you park on the top deck, at the opposite end to the ramp.

Considerate parking

However, if you choose to park on street, please bear in mind that there are traffic wardens in the area who will penalise those who park illegally.
By parking considerately we ask the following:

• Please do not park on junctions.
• Please do not block driveways or dropped kerbs.
• Please consider residents parking needs.
