University of Derby – Buxton (UoDB) launch first personalised digital FE prospectus in region

Reinforcing its position as a leading provider of further education in North Derbyshire, the University of Derby – Buxton (UoDB) has become one of the first FE providers in the region to launch a fully personalised digital prospectus, marking a significant step forward in student experience and sustainability.

After an impressive summer of high pass rates and enrolment figures, the FE provider has been reviewing its environmental impact. Moving to take positive action against climate change, UoDB’s digital approach will be saving a tower of paper equivalent to the height of 30 Minis stacked on top of one another.

Prospectus creator and member of UoDB’s Marketing Team, Kelsey Gould said: “It’s been great to work with the team from Prospectus+ on such a creative project, particularly one that truly puts sustainability and student experience at the heart of it. This project is giving every student the autonomy to explore next steps after GCSEs precisely how they want to.”

Personalisation steps mean each prospectus is completely tailored to the individual, all accessible from their devices.  Students can select as many or as few subject areas and courses as they like, narrow them down from their main prospectus page, and then learn all about studying with UoDB. There’s even an option to download their personalised prospectus and send it to friends and family, sharing their aspirations directly with the important people in their lives. They can even forward their prospectus on to teachers and careers advisors, speeding up the process into further education.

Gareth Hughes, Head of Recruitment & Marketing at UoDB, said: “We’re really proud of what we’ve created for students, and we can’t wait to showcase it in schools, and of course, at our next Open Event which takes place on Thursday 12th February from 5pm – 7pm in our iconic Devonshire Dome.”

The University of Derby – Buxton has already showcased a commitment to growth, sustainability, and a personalised approach to education. Now, with a myriad of brand-new courses currently in the validation process, it’s clear that UoD is moving to improve their further education provision in Buxton for young people and industry partners alike.
