“Try Before You Apply” With free Tasters and Subject Area Sessions for Year 10 and 11

Are you nearing the end of school but can’t make up your mind which course to study at College? UOD – Buxton has the answer with a range of taster sessions available for students to try before they apply!

Motor Vehicle is a subject area available at our Harpur Hill site

Campuses based at both Buxton and Leek are offering free taster sessions for students in Years 10 & 11 during half term week on Wednesday 20 February. Whether you want to do Performing Arts or are considering a career in Catering, there’s a chance to spend a morning or afternoon in college and experience learning.
Alex Fisher, a student recruitment consultant at the College said:

“Our Taster Days are a great opportunity for school leavers to ‘try before they apply.’ They can find out more about life at college, meet tutors and other students, check out our facilities and get hands-on with the subjects they’re interested in. We want to ensure that students make the right choices for their future, and our Taster Days are a really good way of exploring different career options.”

Outdoor Sports is one of the many subjects to taste.

The Tasters Day is on Wednesday 20 February and includes sessions in the following courses: Motor Vehicle & Motor Sport, Media & Computing, Outdoor Sport and Public Services, Performing & Visual Arts, Business, Engineering, Carpentry & Joinery, Health & Social Care, Hair & Beauty and Hospitality & Catering.
